Hearty Ground Beef and Rice Dinner

Posted on April 25, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a solid, no-nonsense hearty ground beef and rice dinner—filling, affordable, and easy to scale up.

🍲 Hearty Ground Beef & Rice Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 cup uncooked rice (long-grain works best)
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 2 cups beef broth (or water + bouillon)
  • 1 cup canned diced tomatoes (or fresh)
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste (optional, for richness)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin (optional, gives warmth)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a large pan. Cook the ground beef until browned; drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add onion, garlic, and bell pepper. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in rice, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper—toast for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Add broth, tomatoes, and tomato paste. Mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to low.
  6. Simmer 15–20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  7. Fluff and rest for 5 minutes before serving.

🔥 Easy Variations

  • Spicy: Add chili flakes or green chilies
  • Cheesy: Stir in shredded cheddar at the end
  • Veg-loaded: Toss in peas, carrots, or spinach
  • Desi twist: Add garam masala + a bit of yogurt for richness

💡 Tips

  • If rice isn’t fully cooked, add a splash of water and cook a few more minutes
  • Letting it sit covered at the end makes it fluffier
  • Tastes even better the next day

If you want, I can turn this into a one-pot pressure cooker version or a more Pakistani-style pulao version.
