Air fryer flatbread

Posted on April 22, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a quick, no-fuss way to make air fryer flatbread that turns out soft inside with light crisp spots outside.

🫓 Simple Air Fryer Flatbread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour (all-purpose or half whole wheat/atta)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2–3 tbsp yogurt (optional, for softer texture)
  • ~¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp oil or melted butter

Steps

1. Make the dough
Mix flour, salt, and baking powder. Add yogurt (if using) and oil. Gradually add warm water and knead into a soft dough (not sticky, not hard).

2. Rest
Cover and let it rest 15–20 minutes.

3. Roll
Divide into small balls and roll into thin rounds (like roti).

4. Air fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 180°C (350°F)
  • Lightly brush each flatbread with oil
  • Cook for 3–4 minutes, flip, then cook another 2–3 minutes until lightly golden

5. Finish
Brush with butter or garlic butter and cover with a cloth to keep soft.

🔥 Variations

  • Garlic flatbread: Add minced garlic + coriander on top before cooking
  • Cheesy: Sprinkle cheese inside and fold before air frying
  • 2-ingredient shortcut: Use self-rising flour + yogurt only

Tips

  • Don’t stack in the air fryer—cook 1–2 at a time
  • If they turn too crispy, lower temp slightly or reduce time
  • Keep cooked ones covered so they stay soft

If you want something closer to restaurant-style naan or a stuffed version (like aloo or cheese), tell me and I’ll tailor it.
